Piñata Letter DIY

by - 10/10/2016

Piñatas are very fun and cute. When I was younger, I made little piñatas as a birthday party favor. So today's DIY is inspired by that and it is all about making any letter (number OR symbol) look like a piñata (for any age) either for decoration, gifting, or whatever use you can think of!

1. Wooden or cardboard letter, number, or symbol in any size you would like.
2. Tissue paper in any color(s) you prefer.
3. Glue
4. Scissors

1. Fold tissue paper in half and cut 1-inch strips
2. Make short cuts along the inferior border of the strips. Be careful not to cut all the way up to the opposite edge.

3. Start gluing the strips by the uncut edge all the way around the letter from the bottom up (so you can better see what you are doing).
4. Repeat step #3 until you have covered the entire letter.
5. Place it anywhere in you home, gift, and enjoy your piñata letter!

I hope you had as much fun decorating your letter(s) into a piñata as much as I did! I choose the first letter of my name, but there are endless possibilities, such as phrases or quotes in any color or combination of colors you can think of. What will you be spelling out?
