Quarantine has not been easy for most, but there are ways to be entertained while staying safe at home. Today's post is all about boredom busters and sharing some of the activities that have kept me busy during this time.
1. Exercise. There are many apps or YouTube videos to help you get started! Staying active will not only help with your physical health, but with you mental health also. Start slowly and build up on it.
2. Take an online class. This is a great way to stay productive and entertained. For the Disney lover, you can watch the Disney Parks- How-To Draw Series playlist on YouTube.
If you would like to get more into photography, you can watch the Nikon School Online playlist.
3. Origami. Yes, it may not sound as fun at first, but once you get started you will notice this will keep you busy for a while. You can find some awesome book like these Harry Potter and Star Wars ones, which I personally recommend.
4. If you own a dog, teach it new tricks!
5. Make a puzzle. The bigger the better!
6. Make your own mask. This will not only keep you entertained, but it will also be helpful for when you have to leave your home. The How to Make Non-Surgical Protective Face Masks playlist from Joann on YouTube is a great source.
Not only can you make your own mask, but you can also make face mask ear savers. Instructions are included above in the "How to" playlist from Joann on YouTube. Make them for yourself or to donate.
7. Bake or cook. Of course, you can bake banana bread, as it seems everyone else is doing now.
8. Another common thing going around these days is to tie dye. You can get a kit online and a piece of white clothing from your own closet, or purchase it online as well.
9. DIAMOND PAINTING! I had been interested in trying this out for a while and decided this was the perfect time to do so. I immediately fell in love with it. So if you are also considering trying this out, what are you waiting for?! (Elsa and Darth Vader)
10. If you miss Disney, you can make your own bounds and start getting ready for when the parks open back up. Refer to my post on Disney Bounding for more information.
11. Read a book or listen to an audio book. If you do not want to wait for one to be delivered, download one and read it through apps like Nook or Kindle.
12. Some days you may just want to stay in bed, wear your pj's all day, and binge-watch a show. That's fine too!
13. Do a DIY Paint By Numbers.
14. Do a domino trail or watch domino trail videos. They are very satisfying.
15. Clean your email inbox. Whether you have emails you have not read or responded to, or emails you want to unsubscribe from or move to Junk, this is the time.
16. Practice makeup. There are endless tutorials on YouTube!
17. Learn a new hairstyle.
We will hopefully never experience something like this again in our lifetime, so make sure you take advantage of the time while you have it so that you remember this as the time you decided to dedicate to yourself and not as a wasted opportunity.
