Frozen II Movie Premiere Outfit DIY

by - 5/27/2020

I like going to the movie theater the day a movie I want to watch premieres, mostly to avoid spoilers. For the Frozen II premiere, I created a t-shirt and shorts set to wear. Today I will show you how to create a look for when theaters open back up, for movie premieres at home, or even themed parties.

  • Fabric
  • Clothing items you want altered
  • Scissors
  • Needle & thread
  • Sewing machine (optional)

1. Cut out fabric 1 inch larger than the area you want covered. In my case, I chose to cover the pocket of my t-shirt. Depending on the pattern of your fabric, you might want to be careful before cutting if you want a specific part of the pattern to show.

2. Fold the borders on to the wrong side of the fabric to exactly fit the are you want covered and pin them down.

3. You may sew these borders before attaching them to the t-shirt, or you may iron them down or even directly attach the fabric to the t-shirt as you fold the borders under, always making sure you are appropriately covering the area, which in my case was the t-shirt's pocket.

4. Repeat the same steps for the shorts. For my set, I decided to cover one side of my jean shorts, not including the pocket and I did it to the side opposite to the pocket on my t-shirt so that both alterations would not end up on the same side of my body.

5. Wear your outfit and have fun!
